Visitation

Visitation is a major priority at Wesley United Church

At Wesley United Church, we recognize that one of the key components to effective and meaningful pastoral care and outreach is visitation.  We have, therefore, put in place a Ministry of Visitation Team, under the leadership of Lloyd Baker, whose focus is to address the needs of the congregation in the area of visitation.  Lay visitors make a concentrated effort to reach out to our shut-in members on a regular basis and inform our minister of any members who have requested to see him. We recognize that having only one minister serving Wesley at this time has placed a greater workload upon his shoulders and we are trying our best to keep the lines of communication open so that he may effectively reach out to those who wish to see him. We are asking your co-operation and participation in helping us to make our visitation more effective.

• as soon as possible after a friend or relative has entered hospital
• if someone is ill at home and requires a visit
• if you know of someone in one of the seniors' homes or complexes who has not been been visited by people from our church. Not all of these homes record church affiliation when residents are admitted and it is possible that we do not know they are there. We do not want to miss anyone when we do our regular visits.
• if there is a special need at home, other than illness, we would like to know as well.
